ABBEVILLE, AL -- Shyanne Peterman has spent the past five years as a key contributor to the Abbeville Girls Basketball Team. Now, Peterman is ready for a new challenge.

The Yellow Jackets star guard signed with Enterprise State Community College recently.

"I'm very excited that my basketball career doesn't end after high school," Peterman said.

Peterman was a five-year starter for the Yellow Jackets. She earned second team All-State honors in Class 3A as a senior, leading the team in several statistical categories.

She says that will be the plan at ESCC, to do whatever is necessary to help the Lady Weevils win.

"I think that I can drive very well and pass very well," Peterman said. "I think those attributes will help me a lot and the team."

Peterman averaged more than 17 points, five rebounds and four steals per game as a senior. She scored 1,500 points for her career at Abbeville.
