MOBILE, Alabama – AJ McCarron has back-to-back national football championships to add to a growing trophy chest that will now include a key to the city honor.
McCarron, the quarterback for the Crimson Tide, will be presented the key to the city of Mobile during the City Council's Jan. 29 meeting. It begins at 10:30 a.m.
"It's an honorary key we give out to citizens of our community," Council President Reggie Copeland said today. "The key to the city doesn't open anything, really. He's certainly brought a lot of fame and publicity to the city of Mobile since he graduated from St. Paul's."
