After a summer of waiting patiently, the high school football season is finally here. The guys strap on the helmets for the first practice Monday all across Alabama.
For a couple of local teams, it's a chance to repeat as state champs. For everyone else, it's a clean slate as they dream of a state title of their own.
The Brantley Bulldogs and Pike Liberal Arts Patriots were our only local squads to win the state crowns last year. But, plenty of teams are returning some talent this season.
The guys will brave the heat over the next few weeks as they'll have less than one month to prepare for the season. The first games are slated for August 26th and 27th.
