Colts & Cards at Nationals

A couple of local AAU baseball squads are playing at Nationals this week. The Wiregrass Colts and Wiregrass Cardinals are both fighting for the 19-under title.

The tournament got underway Monday down in Cocoa Beach, FL at the spring training home of the Washington Nationals.

The Cardinals got a win in their opener beating the Play Ball Barrons 8-5. Hayden Hilliard had a 2-run homer in the win.

The Cardinals fell in the second game 7-3 to the Surge from Fort Myers. They'll play the Virginia Storm Tuesday at 8 a.m.

Meanwhile, the Colts won their first game over the Five Tool Academy of Florida 8-5. The Colts dropped the second game 12-10 to the Georgia Eagles out of Atlanta.

The Colts are back in action Tuesday at 8 a.m. against the Brazos Valley Renegades.
