GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) - The two new coaches in the Atlantic
Coast Conference aren't all that new to the league.
Jimbo Fisher spent three seasons at Florida State - two as its
coach-in-waiting - but after Bobby Bowden retired, he isn't waiting
anymore. Mike London had two separate stints at Virginia, and now
he's back as the Cavaliers' head coach.
The latest spins of the coaching carousel left Virginia Tech's
Frank Beamer as the only ACC head coach to have his job for at
least a decade. The deans of the conference - Maryland's Ralph
Friedgen and Wake Forest's Jim Grobe - have been around only since
Friedgen said Monday during ACC media days that his career has
"kind of come full circle" because it was only nine years ago
that he got his chance to become a head coach.
