Dothan, AL- One Wiregrass hall of famer showed up for a special surprise at dinner tonight.
Former Goshen and Geneva coach Max Griffin was surprised by several of his former players from the 60's with a special appreciation dinner tonight at the Old mill restauraunt in Dothan.
That wasn't the only surprise for griffin though.
For the last year, several players mailed letters to a publisher in Georgia about their former coach, culminating in the book "Coaching to the Max"
Griffin says the best prize though, is that he had a chance to influence players lives.
“You'd like to have respect for the people you've worked with you'd like to have an influence on peoples lives and try to teach them the right way to act and how to do things and give them the discipline to keep their lives headed in the right direction.”
