BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - LSU Police have arrested linebacker Derrick Odom on a misdemeanor charge of damage to property. It's his second arrest in less than a month.
Odom is a freshman from Jackson, Mississippi. Campus police say he and former LSU football player and track star Xavier Carter face charges from damage to the car of LSU student Maria Bruton on September 1st.
LSU Police official Lawrence Rabalais says Odom is accused of ramming the 2002 cavalier with his 212-pound body and trying to kick in a window.
Sports Information director Michael Bonnette says that, as of Tuesday, Odom was still on the LSU football team.
Carter is a professional track athlete, and is believed to be out of the country now. But police say they have issued an arrest warrant for him on a felony count of simple criminal damage to property.
