Vandy Coach Retires

NASHVILLE (AP) - Bobby Johnson abruptly retired as Vanderbilt's
football coach today. At a news conference, the 59-year-old Johnson
called it a very difficult decision but said it was not one
prompted by health concerns for either himself or his wife. Johnson
went 29-66 in eight seasons with the Commodores.
