KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee football coach Derek Dooley has dismissed a player from Atlanta after being arrested in an early morning brawl yesterday at a bar.
Dooley dismissed rising sophomore Darren Myles Junior. Campus police charged him with assault, resisting arrest and evading arrest after he allegedly ran from police and elbowed an officer in the face. It was his second off-season arrest.
Incoming freshman receiver Da'Rick Rogers of Calhoun was charged
with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
Dooley indefinitely suspended sophomores Greg King and Marlon Walls, although it was not clear what their roles were in the melee.
Four other players were present but not charged, though police say more charges may be pending in the ongoing investigation.
Witnesses say two patrons got into a fight and several others joined in.
An off-duty officer who was a patron suffered a head injury trying to break up the fight.
