UNDATED (AP) - For the second time in as many weeks, the Southeastern Conference named Alabama running back Terry Grant as the SEC's Freshman of the Week.
On Saturday, Grant gained 173 yards on 24 carries and scored two touchdowns to propel the Crimson Tide to a 24-10 win over Vanderbilt.
After two weeks of play, Grant, a native of Lumberton, Mississippi, is averaging more than 153 yards rushing yards per game.
Mississippi State linebacker Gabe O'Neal was named SEC Defensive Player of the Week for his play in MSU's 38-17 win at Tulane Saturday night.
The SEC named Florida quarterback Tim Tebow its Offensive Player of the Week after going 18-for-25 for 236 yards and three touchdowns in the Gators 59-31 win over Troy.
