Young Gators hoping to avoid Omaha distractions

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Florida outfielder Matt den Dekker and
closer Kevin Chapman sprayed teammates with high-powered water guns before practice Wednesday, showing just how loose the Gators are heading into the College World Series.

But can they stay that way in Omaha?

The Gators are making their first appearance at the College
World Series in five years, meaning no one on the roster has ever
played on college baseball's biggest stage.

How they respond could determine how long they stay in the
double-elimination tournament. Will they act like wide-eyed
tourists? Will they show their youth and inexperience? Or will they
continue to play the kind of ball that carried them to the
Southeastern Conference championship and five straight wins in the
NCAA tournament?
