CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) - It's the NCAA super regional that wasn't
supposed to happen. Neither Alabama or Clemson were expected to
make it this far.
The two schools won NCAA regionals as No. 2 seeds last week, the
Crimson Tide winning at Georgia Tech while the Tigers knocked out
Alabama's rival Auburn.
Now, Alabama (41-23) and Clemson (41-22) play in the best-of-3
series at Doug Kingsmore Stadium for a spot in the College World
Clemson coach Jack Leggett says both clubs went through similar
seasons, each struggling during the middle of the year and then
rebounding to play top-notch baseball at the end.
