AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Kyle Parker hit a three-run homer and Richie Shaffer had a bases-clearing double to lift Clemson to a 13-7 victory over Auburn.
Clemson (41-22) frequently dodged trouble, turning three double plays and stranding 12 Auburn baserunners last night. Clemson reached a second straight super regional and will host Alabama.
It was a big bounce-back for a team that was one out away from beating Auburn (43-21) the night before, when Creede Simpson hit a
three-run homer in the top of the ninth.
Top-seeded Auburn outhit Clemson 18-14 and got solo home runs from Trent Mummey and Casey McElroy but frequently failed to produce with runners on base.
