A player collapsed and died during a fast pitch softball tournament game in Montgomery.
Preston Mattair was a catcher for a 45-and-over team from Clearwater, Florida. He suffered a massive heart attack shortly after walking off the field at the end of an inning on Saturday.
Mattair's teammates with the Colt 45 Bombers said he was in his mid-50s.
When they learned of Mattair's death, the Bombers and the Clearwater Pride withdrew from the tournament and returned home.
The Blue-Gray is the oldest continual fast pitch tournament in America.
