`Bama's Saban Immediately Starts Looking Ahead

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Nick Saban has a "24-hour rule" restricting how much time Alabama's players are allowed to dwell on a win or loss.

For Saban himself, it's more like 24 minutes, as he began looking ahead shortly after Saturday night's easy debut win over Western Carolina.

The Crimson Tide (1-0) might not have any more such big mismatches as that 52-to-6 win over a team that plays in the Football Championship Subdivision, previously Division I-AA.

Bama next travels to Vanderbilt. Then, Arkansas and Georgia come visiting before a game against Florida State in Jacksonville, Fla.

No wonder Saban wasn't wasting much time celebrating this victory.

Saban says the team needs to improve a lot, saying they are going to play some very good football teams, including coming up this week at Vanderbilt.

He says the team needs to make "some significant amount of improvement to go on the road and play a team like that, and that's what we're going to focus on."
