TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Alabama's baseball team is hanging onto
hopes of keeping the season going.
The Crimson Tide finishes up the regular season with a
three-game series at Tennessee beginning Thursday. Alabama,
Kentucky, Tennessee and LSU are in a four-way tie for seventh in
the overall SEC standings and fighting for one of the final two
spots at next week's league tournament.
Alabama needs to sweep the Volunteers and have either Kentucky
or LSU lose one game or win the series and hope one of the other
teams drops at least two games to make the tournament.
The Tide is still holding out hope of an NCAA regional berth
even if it doesn't make the eight-team SEC field.
