TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Alabama cornerback Simeon Castille entered a plea of not guilty today to charges of disorderly conduct.
The plea was entered in Tuscaloosa Municipal Court by his attorney. A trial date was set for September 26th. Castille, an All-SEC preseason media pick, did not appear in person.
Tuscaloosa police accused him of shouting, cussing and challenging passengers of a sport utility vehicle to fight him as he stood in a city street about 2 a.m. on August 19th.
Castille has said he was joking with teammates in the SUV in an off-campus area called The Strip.
