Auburn went through a short practice in shells Thursday as it began to put the final touches on its preparation for next Monday's season opener at Southern California.
"We spent 30 minutes in meetings, an hour against our scout teams going through the game plan and we finished with the last 45 minutes in the stadium working on the kicking game, sideline organization, signals, and phones," Auburn head coach Tommy Tuberville said.
The Tigers will go through a similar practice Friday afternoon and have a short workout Saturday morning before departing Saturday afternoon.
Auburn's trip to California will be its first game in the Golden State since 1936, when the Tigers lost to Santa Clara, 12-0, in San Francisco.
