NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Kentucky coach John Calipari says watching
film of Wake Forest makes him nervous, particularly when he sees
how well the Demon Deacons rebound.
Calipari says he did not believe any team could outrebound Texas
by 25 until he saw No. 9 seed Wake Forest do it in the first round
of the NCAA tournament Thursday night.
The Demon Deacons had 20 offensive rebounds and emerged with an
81-80 victory on Ishmael Smith's pull-up jumper in the final
seconds of overtime. Now, Wake Forest meets top-seeded Kentucky in
the second round of the East Regional on Saturday night.
The Demon Deacons say they know they're the underdogs after
watching Kentucky's exhibition of 3-pointers and alley-oop dunks in
a first-round blowout of East Tennessee State.
