USA Takes on Canada in Olympic Men's Hockey Final

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) - The U.S. men's hockey team
already has one stirring win over Canada, but they'll need to come
up with another to capture Olympic gold.

Today's final promises a dramatic conclusion to the Vancouver
Games.

Of all the country's medal aspirations, for many Canadians this
is the one that will define the success of these games.

After dropping that preliminary round game to the U.S., Canada
has been on a roll. In Friday night's semifinal, they outplayed
Slovakia for two periods then withstood a furious third period
rally for a 3-2 victory.

But the fast, young American team has also been impressive,
making quick work of Finland in the other semifinal with six first
period goals.

A similar scenario played out eight years ago, when Canada
spoiled the hosts' Salt Lake City party with a 5-2 gold medal win.
The Americans would love to return the favor and disappoint Canada
at home.
