TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Two University of Alabama football players are free on bond today following their arrests on misdemeanor charges related to an altercation at a bar.
Jail records show 19-year-old defensive lineman Brandon Deadrick was released on $1,500 bond. And 22-year-old running back Roy Upchurch is free on $300 bond.
A report by the Tuscaloosa Police Department says Deadrick was charged with criminal mischief, resisting arrest and giving a false name. Officers say Upchurch was arrested by university police.
A Tuscaloosa police spokesman says no fights or injuries were reported. The incident occurred early Saturday in front of The Legacy. That's a bar along the strip, an area of nightclubs, restaurants and stores popular with students.
University spokeswoman Deborah Lane says both players are enrolled in summer school.
Athletics spokesman Doug Walker says coach Nick Saban was told of the arrests, and team officials are still gathering information.
