TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Alabama freshman running back Jamar
Taylor has left the football team and intends to transfer.
The 5-foot-9, 204-pounder, who rushed for 44 yards on 10 carries during the A-Day game apparently wants to be closer to his Lakeland,
Taylor enrolled early at Alabama and participated in spring drills. According to reports, he visited the University of South Florida on Tuesday and intends to transfer there.
Tide coach Nick Saban says Taylor was dealing with "personal problems." If Taylor needed to be near his family, says Saban, "We're certainly going to help him do that."
Taylor was among the hopefuls for replacing tailback Kenneth Darby, led by Jimmy Johns and Glen Coffee.
