Gators look to end slump against rival Tennessee

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Florida believes it's time to snap a
three-year losing streak against Tennessee.

The Gators have lost six in a row and 11 of 14 in the series, a
slump they are well aware of heading into Tuesday night's
Southeastern Conference matchup against the Volunteers.

Florida could use a different outcome.

The Gators are trying to bolster their NCAA tournament resume,
and a win against the 19th-ranked Volunteers would go a long way
toward securing a spot in the field for the first time in three

Although coach Billy Donovan's team still has games remaining
against Georgia, No. 16 Vanderbilt and No. 2 Kentucky, beating the
Volunteers also would provide a confidence boost for a program that
stumbled down the stretch the last two seasons.
