MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - Auburn football signee Ryan Williams said the NCAA Clearinghouse has approved his transcript, making him eligible to play this season.
The former BC Rain High School defensive back's status was in question after the Mobile Press-Register reported that he had 10 grades raised.
Superintendent Harold Dodge has said investigators might never be able to determine who changed the grades. Williams and Auburn have not been accused of anything.
The newspaper has also reported that seven grades were changed on the transcript of Auburn signee Nick Fairley of Williamson High.
Fairley has not qualified academically and might enroll in a junior college.
Williams said he plans to report to Auburn today.
