SAN FRANCISO (AP) - National League All-Star starter Jake Peavy knew he was only going to pitch one inning so he wasn't too upset when first baseman Prince Fielder made an error.
At least that meant he would get to stay in the game for a little longer.
The Mobile native threw only 16 pitches in the inning before being replaced by Brad Penny. He admits he had a few regrets about the one-inning plan but figures it was for the best.
The American League won 5-to-4 and have not lost an All-Star game since 1996.
