Auburn's Mummey sprains ankle, to miss start

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Auburn outfielder Trent Mummey will miss the
start of the baseball season with a severely sprained ankle.

Auburn said Tuesday that Mummey injured his right ankle during
practice last weekend. No timetable is set for his return.

Mummey was a Gold Glove Award Winner and a member of the SEC's
All-Defensive Team last season.

He has batted .296 in two seasons with 35 stolen bases and
started 103 games in center field.

Mummey had a career-high 15 home runs last season while mostly
hitting in the leadoff spot.
