LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky coach John Calipari is pleased
with the strides being made by his No. 3 Wildcats, particularly
forward Demarcus Cousins.

Cousins notched his sixth-straight double-double in an 81-55
romp of LSU on Saturday. Calipari said on Monday that the freshman
was turning into one of the best players in the nation.

The coach also pointed out that Kentucky (22-1, 7-1 Southeastern
Conference) doesn't need star freshman point guard John Wall to be
at his best for the Wildcats to win. Wall had just six points
against the Tigers, but he continues to get better, especially on
the defensive end.

Calipari also praised the role players for his team, saying they
will be crucial in Tuesday's game against Alabama (13-10, 3-6).
