AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Auburn defensive back Aairon Savage, who
missed the last two seasons with injuries, has been granted a sixth
year of eligibility by the NCAA.

Auburn coach Gene Chizik announced Thursday that Savage would be
able to rejoin the Tigers and had worked hard to recover from
injuries, which sidelined him for both the 2008 and 2009 seasons.

Savage was a starter at safety as a redshirt freshman in 2006,
making 53 tackles. His play was limited due to injuries in 2007.

A torn knee ligament kept him on the sidelines in 2008 and,
preparing to play at corner back, he suffered a season-ending
injury in June 2009.

Savage graduated in December 2008 and is currently working on a
graduate degree.
