UCF signs 23 players, including a few surprises

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Central Florida coach George O'Leary
believes this year's recruiting class signals how far his program
has come.

UCF swiped a trio of top recruits in a signing day surprise
Wednesday. The Knights' class totals 23 players, with several from
talent-rich South Florida.

The enrollees were headlined by the state's Class 6A player of
the year, quarterback Jeffrey Godfrey from Miami Central. Godfrey
had enrolled early and was perhaps a big reason why four of his
teammates inked with UCF on Wednesday, including defensive lineman
Jose Jose.

The Knights also received last-minute letters of intent from two
other highly rated recruits: Miami Northwestern offensive lineman
Torrian Wilson and receiver Jordan Akins from Union Grove in
McDonough, Ga.
