TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Governor Charlie Crist wants the Chicago Cubs to move their spring training home to Florida.

The major league team is nearing a deadline to choose between
its longtime spring training home in Mesa, Ariz., or coming to
Naples in southwest Florida.

Crist will be in Collier County on Friday to talk with Naples
officials about their progress in luring the Cubs from Arizona.

Crist said Thursday it's a golden opportunity for the state to
land a cherished professional sports franchise that would bring
jobs and boost the economy while providing entertainment at the
same time.

The governor met with Cubs' officials last fall about the move.
