State Players Named to Football Award Watch Lists

Alabama's Andre Smith and Auburn's King Dunlap have been named to the preseason watch list for the Outland Trophy.

The award is given by the Football Writers Association of America to the nation's best interior lineman. Forty-one players were on the watch list.

Smith -- the Crimson Tide's sophomore left tackle - is the only underclassman on the preseason list.

Auburn defensive end Quentin Groves is among 49 players on the watch list for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy.

That award is given to the nation's top defensive player.
