MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - Coty Blanchard and Daryl Norris each threw
second-half touchdown passes as Alabama claimed a 21-13 victory on
Saturday in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic at
Blanchard, from Class 4A state champion Cherokee County, hit
Maudrecas Humphrey of Class 6A champion Hoover for a 21-yard
touchdown to put Alabama on top 7-3 late in the third quarter.
Norris, from Daphne, hooked up with Murphys Solomon Patton - a
University of Florida commitment - for a 50-yard score early in the
Dale Trimble, of Gadsden City and Alabama's Most Valuable
Player, returned an interception 36 yards for a touchdown moments
after Pattons score to make it 21-3. The victory improved Alabama
to 16-7 all-time in the game.
