Meyer Hires Receivers Coach

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Florida coach Urban Meyer has hired
Central Michigan assistant Zach Azzanni to be the team's receivers

Azzanni replaces Billy Gonzales, who resigned to become passing
game coordinator at LSU.

Azzanni worked for Meyer at Bowling Green (2001-02) and remained
there four seasons after Meyer left for Utah in 2003. Azzanni
returned to his alma mater, Central Michigan, as receivers coach in
2007 and spent the last three seasons there.

Florida's receiving corps might benefit from a change. The fifth-ranked Gators will lose starters Riley Cooper and David Nelson next season, and a number of young players - including Deonte Thompson, Omarius Hines, T.J. Lawrence and Frankie Hammond Jr. - have progressed slowly.
