Carroll Eagles' Head Football Coach Resigns

Carroll Eagles' head football Coach Ronnie Cottrell resigns, leaving the program he took over only two years ago.

The former Alabama and Florida State assistant told News 4, that it was simply time to move on to a new phase in his life.

Cottrell added that he and his family will be staying in Ozark, while he works part-time in sales and continues to do his radio show every week.

In 2005, Cottrell led Carroll High School to 7-4 record that resulted in the Eagles hosting a playoff game for the first time in 15 years.

No word yet as to who will replace him, but he says he hopes it will be one of his assistants.
