CHICAGO (AP) - The Chicago Cubs kept their cool and ended a six-game losing streak by ripping the Atlanta Braves 10-to-1.
The Cubs hit three homers and sprayed 13 hits, hours after Lou Piniella was suspended for his tirade against an umpire and two days after pitcher Carlos Zambrano fought with catcher Michael Barrett.
Mark DeRosa hit a first-inning grand slam and finished with five R-B-Is. Alfonso Soriano and Derrek Lee also homered to support Sean Marshall, who is 1-and-2 after allowing a run and six hits in six and two-thirds.
Lance Cormier was rocked for eight runs in four-plus innings, dropping him to 0-and-1. Cormier started in place of John Smoltz, who was scratched because of discomfort in his throwing shoulder.
