Gators Have Few Coaching Options Without Donovan

DESTIN, Fla. (AP) - Florida might have been better off had Billy Donovan taken the Kentucky job. At least then, the Gators would have had plenty of replacement options.

Now, the two-time defending national champions seemingly have fewer choices.

According to an N-B-A official, Donovan agreed to a five-year, 27-point-five million dollar contract with the NBA's Orlando Magic today. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal wasn't finalized.

The NBA's Orlando Magic confirmed they hired Donovan as their coach.

This leaves the Gators without a coach for the first time in more than 11 years.

Florida athletic director Jeremy Foley probably will consider replacing Donovan with assistant coach Larry Shyatt or Virginia Commonwealth coach Anthony Grant.
