ATLANTA (AP) - Uga VII's half brother, Russ, is set to be the University of Georgia's sideline mascot when the football team takes on Georgia Tech in Atlanta.
UGA Associate Athletic Director Claude Felton on Friday told the
Athens Banner-Herald that Russ will also be the sideline mascot if
UGA gets and accepts a bowl bid after Saturday's game.
But Felton said Russ will not be a candidate to become Uga VIII.
The Seiler family of Savannah owns the Uga line of bulldogs and
will name the next Uga sometime after the football season.
Uga VII, a 4-year-old English bulldog in his second season as UGA's mascot, died of heart problems on Nov. 19.
