Atlanta 6, Washington 2

WASHINGTON (AP) - Kyle Davies takes the mound for the Atlanta
Braves tonight in Game Three of a four-game series in Washington.

Edgar Renteria hit two home runs, and Tim Hudson held the Nationals
to three hits over seven innings as the Braves ended Washington's
four-game winning streak with a 6-to-2 victory Tuesday night.

Renteria went 3-for-5, homering in the first and seventh innings.

Hudson (5-1) had a perfect game through four and two-thirds innings and lowered his E-R-A to 1.77 while picking up his fifth win. He walked one and struck out four before leaving for a pinch hitter in the top of the eighth.

Nationals starter Jerome Williams (0-5) was activated from the disabled list before the game. Renteria hit a two-run homer in the first, and Williams failed to retire any of the four batters he faced in the third.

Williams was removed from the game, and the team announced he had been diagnosed with a strained rotator cuff.
