Florida 9, Alabama 3

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Alabama will try to avoid a series sweep Sunday at Florida.

The Crimson Tide lost for the second straight game in the series Saturday, falling 9-to-3.

Miers Quigley lost his fifth straight decision and the Crimson Tide has scored only 10 total runs during that stretch.

The Gators hit three homers in the game. They now have a two-game lead over Alabama in the SEC standings.

First baseman Austin Pride, left fielder Jonathan Pigott and third baseman Jon Townsend all homered for the Gators.

Quigley (4-5) allowed five runs and seven hits before leaving two outs into the fifth inning. He also hit two batters and has not won since beating Tennessee in the SEC opener back on March 16th.

Alabama's Kyle Moore had a career-high three hits in the loss. Matt Bentley had a solo homer for the Tide.
