STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) - Edward Easley and Mitch Moreland each hit back-to-back home runs in Mississippi State's 4-to-1 victory over Auburn Friday in the first of a three-game series.

It was Easley's 11th round-tripper, while Moreland has now hit six. About three-thousand people witnessed the game between MSU (29-12 overall and 11-9 in conference play) and Auburn (28-20 and 7-15) at Dudy Noble Field.

Chad Crosswhite (6-2) allowed three hits and one run (earned) in seven innings of work. Aaron Weatherford got his third save after pitching a perfect eighth and ninth.
