Falcons Sign 13 Undrafted Free Agents

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) - The Atlanta Falcons have signed 13 undrafted free agents, including running back Justin Vincent of Louisiana State.

The 5-foot-10, 219-pound Vincent rushed for more than two-thousand yards and 17 touchdowns in his career at L-S-U. His best game came against Georgia in the 2003 Southeastern Conference championship game at the Georgia Dome, when he rushed for 201 yards.

Also among the free agents announced yesterday were two Georgia players, linebacker Tony Taylor and punter Gordon Ely-Kelso.

The Falcons signed three wide receivers -- Eric Newman of Louisiana Tech, Eric Weems of Bethune-Cookman and Vincent Marshall of Houston.

The team also signed two offensive linemen who played for new coach Bobby Petrino at Louisville -- Kurt Quarterman and Renardo Foster. The pair helped Louisville's offense score 491 points.

The other signings were: defensive lineman Noland Burchette, Virginia Tech; Atlanta native and Mississippi State safety Jermaine Johnson; defensive linemen David Patterson of Ohio State and Kelly Talavou of Utah; and safety Ryan West, Tennessee.
