ATLANTA (AP) - Atlanta left-hander Chuck James is scheduled to start for the Braves Tuesday night when they meet the Phillies in the rubber match of a three-game series.
Philadelphia's Cole Hamels gave up three runs in the first inning last night but bounced back to hold the Braves to just four more hits in a 6-4 victory over Atlanta.
It was the Phillies's first win against the Braves in five games this season.
Chipper Jones had a two-run homer in the first and added a solo shot in the eighth that finished Hamels, who pitched seven and a third innings and improved his record to 3-1.
Tom Gordon pitched the ninth for his fifth save.
The Braves helped Hamels by getting one runner thrown out at the plate and another tagged out in a rundown between third and home.
Catcher Brian McCann had his glove knocked off by a swing and eventually left the game with a sore hand, but not before giving up a passed ball that allowed Philadelphia's first run.
It was another miserable start for Atlanta's Mark Redman, who fell to O-4.
Redman was knocked out during a four-run second and might be in danger of losing his spot in the rotation. His ERA climbed to 10.62 in five starts.
