Troy 5, Auburn 4

TROY, Ala. (AP) - Beau Brooks hit a home run with two outs in the bottom of the 16th inning to lead Troy to a 5-to-4 victory over Auburn after nearly four and a half hours of play Wednesday night.

It was a back-and-forth tug of war throughout the marathon 16 innings.

Troy's Edgar Ramirez had a two run home run in the fifth inning to bring Troy (26-and-16) to a 2-to-1 lead. Auburn (27-and-17) tied the score at 2-to-2 in the top of the sixth and took the lead later in the inning.

Troy tied it at 3-to-3 in the bottom of the seventh with an R-B-I single off the bat of Ramirez. Auburn took a 4-to-3 lead with one down in the top of the 10th only to give the lead back in the bottom half of the frame.

Bruce Edwards' diving catch of a Kevin Weidlich line drive to left-center with two on and two out in the bottom of the 15 kept the game at 4-to-4.
