TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Alabama coach Nick Saban has heard enough talk about winning championships, long a popular subject for Crimson Tide players and fans.

Saban wraps up his first 'Bama spring practice urging his players, at least, to pipe down and focus on trying to make it happen.

What does that have to do with the Tide's spring game Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium? Not a lot, perhaps, but Saban apparently didn't want to pass up a chance to make a point. His pointed message came in response to a question about whether the team met his goals for the spring.

The Tide, he said, remains "a work in progress" entering Saturday's A-Day Game. It will be the first glimpse Alabama fans have had of Saban's team because spring practices have been closed.

The Tide's spring game typically draws in crowds in the 30,000-40,000 range. But Alabama officials are preparing for 60,000-plus fans to show up at Bryant-Denny for the free event.
