AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Mike Bianucci had three hits and four RBI to help lead Auburn to a 12-to-5 win over Alabama Friday night.
The Tigers (26-and-15, 5-and-11 Southeastern Conference) used an eight-run second inning to cruise to victory in the first game of this three-game Southeastern Conference series.
Bianucci's hits included a pair of home runs. First baseman Luke Greinke had three hits and three R-B-I to pace the Tigers 14-hit attack.
Auburn batted for nearly 30 minutes in the bottom of the second to post eight runs against Crimson Tide starter Miers Quigley, who suffered his shortest outing of the season.
Auburn's eight-run outburst came after the Tide (22-and-17, 7-and-9 S-E-C) had taken a two-to-nothing lead in the top of the inning on Brandon Belcher's two-run home run to right field.
Bianucci's eleventh home run of the season gave Auburn a 10-to-2 lead in the sixth inning. He added his second home run of the game to give Auburn a 12-to-5 lead in the eighth inning.
The two teams will meet in game two of this three-game SEC series Saturday at 3:05 pm.
