AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - An Auburn student is suing Tigers running
back Eric Smith for injuries allegedly sustained during a fight.
The suit filed by Decari Jenkins in U.S. District Court in
Montgomery says that Smith and two unnamed Auburn players assaulted him and a friend in August.
Smith was charged with third-degree assault and suspended for
one game by Auburn coach Gene Chizik. Jenkins' attorney said
Smith's harassment claim against Jenkins was dismissed.
Jenkins' suit says he sustained permanent scarring and symptoms
of post-concussion syndrome from the confrontation.
An Auburn athletic official declined comment Tuesday.
