TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Right-hander Austin Hyatt and three relievers led Alabama to a 5-3 victory over Georgia Sunday to clinch the series.
Tide closer Tommy Hunter left the bases loaded in the eighth and ninth innings for the win.
Georgia (13-23, 5-10 Southeastern Conference) jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning, but Alabama (22-16, 7-8 SEC) came back when Emeel Salem led off the bottom of the first with a double down the left field line and came around to score on Brandon May's RBI single to right field, making the score 2-1.
Alabama took the lead for good with two runs on three hits in the fourth inning off losing pitcher Dean Weaver.
Georgia added its final run of the game in the ninth inning on a RBI single by Matt Olson. Georgia had 12 hits in the game, but stranded 14 base runners.
Hyatt (4-1) picked up the win, throwing six and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs on eight hits while striking out four and walking two.
