COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Josh Donaldson went 2-for-5 with five RBIs, including a three-run homer in the ninth to lead Auburn to a 16-1 win against South Carolina in Southeastern Conference action Friday night.
Mike Bianucci also had a solo shot to start a four-run third inning that put the Tigers (25-12, 4-9 Southeastern Conference) up 8-0.
Auburn starter Paul Burnside (6-1) struck out five and gave up just one run in seven innings' work to pick up the win. South Carolina starter Harris Honeycutt (7-1) struck out eight, but gave up eight runs on eight hits in four innings to take his first loss as a Gamecock.
Justin Smoak led South Carolina (26-8, 7-6 SEC) with a solo home run in the sixth. It was his eleventh homer of the year.
The Gamecocks recorded just six total hits.
