AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Luke Greinke had four hits to help lead Auburn's baseball team to a 22-to-6 victory over Mercer Tuesday night.
All nine Auburn starters collected at least one hit and six different Tigers scored three runs as Auburn (24-and-12) scored its most runs since a 22-to-4 win over Furman on February 12th, 2000.
Greinke, the starting left fielder, had three singles in the first three innings as Auburn drilled ten singles and a double and scored eleven runs in the first three innings to effectively put the game out of reach in the early going.
The Tigers tacked on five more runs in each of the fifth and eighth innings.
Starting pitcher Evan Crawford earned the win for Auburn, limiting Mercer (21-and-16) to two runs on five hits.
Mercer starter JC Daugherty allowed seven runs on eight hits in
one inning of work.
