NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - David Price threw a complete game shutout with ten strikeouts to lead Vanderbilt to a three-nothing win over Alabama Friday night.

Vanderbilt (28-and-4, 6-and-4 Southeastern Conference) was scoreless until the eighth, when Pedro Alvarez, David Macias, and Ryan Flaherty each scored, with RBIs from Shea Robin and Alex Feinberg.

Alabama (19-and-13, 4-and-6) had three hits, but stranded the bases loaded in the top of the eighth before the Commodores took the lead. Emeel Salem ended a 43-game streak getting on base.

The left-handed Price, expected to be a high MLB draft pick in June, improved to 6-0 for the season.

Tide starter Miers Quigley (4-1) allowed four hits and two runs, throwing four strikeouts. Tommy Hunter allowed another run in one
inning of relief.

Snow flurries fell during the game and the temperature at Hawkins Field was estimated at 35 degrees with wind chill.

Vanderbilt, which is ranked Number One in the Baseball America poll, and Alabama continue the three-game series Saturday at three pm Central.
